Celebrating with a farewell

Peregian Beach Community Kindergarten are losing a dear pair of local friends, Pam and Owen Friar, who are sadly moving away.

Long time adopted Grandparents and great supporters of the Kindy, Pam and Owen have been involved since their grandchildren attended in the early 1990's.

Pam was honorary treasurer for 15 years and has been assisting the treasurer voluntarily for the past few years.   Owen has often kindly made himself available for advice, support, repairs to computers and children's equipment, and has expertly chaired the annual AGMs.

They are a very community-minded couple who have helped many people on the Coast through their involvement in a number of community organisations.  Pam and Owen are very excited about their move, and whilst the Kindy is happy for them, they will be dearly missed, especially by staff who have appreciated and felt their support strongly through many years.

Peregian Beach Kindergarten will incorporate a farewell into their 30th Anniversary Celebration at the Kindy on Sunday October 21.

A small playgroup started in the 1970's but it was in April 1982 that the building was finished, a teacher employed and it officially became a Kindergarten.

Pam and Owen are incredibly community-minded people and they have done so much for the Kindy in their own time for the last 20 years and entirely voluntarily. We will miss them terribly!
