The third action item from the local economic forum held at the Surf Club on Wednesday 18th July was:-
An Open letter to Councillor Green to request that the data collected in the survey about the future needs for Peregian Beach Park be made available to the local community, as it would be of interest & beneficial for the whole community.
70 signatures from local traders and residents were collected to show support for this request.
We have waited for Russell Green to settle back in to work after his holidays before sending the request. These were mailed to our local councillor today.
Trena-Lousie Lyons from Newsroom PR who was engaged by Council to conduct the survey had kindly emailed me to follow up on this request mentioned in the Talk of the Town Blog on the 24th July. Her reply is below.
"As mentioned during our recent round of stake holder meetings, Council intends to share the community’s aspirations for the park with stake holders, the broader community and the local media once all the information is compiled."
Another enewsletter and media release are planned for distribution to communicate same.
Timing is likely to be late August/early September."
