Toxic Waste Recycling

If you have any old used batteries lying around the house, drop them into the purple recycle bin outside the Peregian Beach Community House on David Low way behind the Bus Stop.

These little bullets of convenient cordless electrical energy unfortunately breakdown and discharge toxic chemicals if they go into the general waste bin and into landfill site that is within our Noosa Biosphere Reserve.

Although batties are recyclable, 97% end up in landfill. That's 8000 tonnes per year. Electronic waste is growing 3 times the rate of domestic waste. (refer Cleanup Australia - battery recycling fact sheet)

It is worth investing in rechargeable batteries.

The Sanyo Eneloop battery is a secondary battery that can be recharged up to 1000 times.

That Bundesliga promises a whole lot of action at the moment, with 5 teams ideal for competing in the prize. Germany's tough showing around the 2006 Universe Cup helped reduce league with the eyes of a lot of spectators, and it has become alot more competitive thus.
